Welcome to the recruitment process for the West Virginia University Dance Team! We are excited that you’re interested in joining our dynamic and passionate team. As a member of WVU’s Dance Team, you’ll contribute to a legacy of excellence that extends beyond the dance floor. Our program is built on dedication, integrity, and teamwork, and we seek individuals who share those same values.
The WVU Dance Team performs at major sporting events, including football, men’s and women’s basketball. We also perform at select Baseball, Soccer, Volleyball, and Wrestling events. The team competes at NDA Nationals in April every year. Participation in Nationals is voluntary and the dancers on the floor are selected by coaches and choreographers. Each year, the composition of the team varies based on the needs of the program, with decisions made by our coaching staff.
Our team emphasizes not only high performance and precision but also the importance of academic success. As a student-athlete, maintaining your studies is just as critical as excelling on the dance floor. You will represent West Virginia University both on campus and beyond, and we expect every team member to be a positive ambassador for our school. We look for dancers who are not only skilled but also enthusiastic about continuous growth and embodying team spirit.
Below, you’ll find more details about our recruitment process. Should you have any questions along the way, please don’t hesitate to contact wvudance@gmail.com
